Tonight's lesson is officially the final session.

If it is of interest, we should probably try once more, to go over the subjunctive its use and how, although we have it in English we really are not aware of it -- If I were you I would be aware ;) !!
Monday March 22nd
We will begin tonight with the written declarations from two of Caen City's Councillors about the death of Janine Hardy, hero of the Résistance movement in Caen. See document in March 15th (we did the main bit about her life).
We will then use the Ouest France link and see what they have to say about her life. (again see below)

We will look into some of the grammar in particular ceci, cela, ceux-ci, ceux-là, celui-ci and celui-là etc. Laura K Lawless has already written a great deal on these themes.
These words are either adjectives or pronouns...
They are: Demonstrative, Indefinite, Interrogative, Negative, Possessive or Relative.
Let's begin with the : Demonstrative...
Adjectives Ce, Cet, Cette, Ces Ce livre est intéressant
Pronouns Celui, Celle, Ceux, Celles Celui-ci est intéressant
Indefinite Pronouns Ce, Ceci, Cela, Ça C’est intéressant.

This page shows a bit of cultural information for the Mardi Gras celebrations in Nice during Covid.
Dunkirk and Nice are both renowned for their Mardi Gras celebrations. These did not take place this year, but nevertheless both places just spent a weekend in total lockdown in an attempt to subdue the alarming rise in cases in those areas in recent weeks.
This article discusses the Carnival de Mardi Gras in Dunkirk. It is an article written for young French people so the syntax is more simple (a bit like The Sun/Mirror in the UK)
